Schedule of Events 2019

The Nassau Village Beautification Committee presents the following  events for summer 2018. With the exception of the yard sale, all take  place at the Village Commons Park on John Street. 

 

Saturday, June 8 Village Wide Yard Sale 9 am - 3 pm  Property owners are invited to take part on their yards and lawns. No fee to participate.
 

Thursday, July 19 Gazebo Concert 7 pm  Nassau Community Band. Your "hometown" brass band with old-time favorites.
 

Saturday, July 27 Chicken Bar-B-Que  4 - 6 pm  Rain  or shine, New this year - take out only. Reservations needed by  July 24th. Tickets at Nassau Village Hall or phone reservations at (518)  766-2291. 


Saturday, August 17 Eleganz on Elm 4 - 7 pm Enjoy an early evening of live musical groups, delicious street food creations on 3 of the most lovely porches on Elm Street. (A Tribute to Nassau Bicentennial.)


Saturday, Sept 7 Nassaufest 11 am - 3 pm  Kid’s carnival games, com’ty group booths, musical entertainment, fun for the whole family. Community groups invited.

Sunday, September 29 Oktoberfest  12- 4 pm  with The Bavarian Barons. Celebrate the traditional  end-of-season harvest fest! German food specialties and music, under the  tents.

Nassau Beneath Our Feet

Tree days of local history exploration! Join in a real archaeological dig. Special activities for kids, demonstrations and hands-on experience.

Chicken BBQ

Still only $10! A full meal with 1/2 chicken, baked potato, Cole slaw, roll and butter, homemade brownie and refreshing drink. Take out only.

Eleganz on Elm

Something brand new! On the porches and lawns of beautiful Elm Street. Cool music, street food treats and drinks to make it a party!

Our Activities

2019 Meeting Schedule
The  Committee meets monthly (April - October) at the Village Hall on the  Third Wednesday of each month. Meetings start 7 PM and last approximately 1  hour. All are welcome. Community suggestions and comments are important  to us!


Our Plantings & Upkeep
From  its inception, the "beautification" part of the Committee has been in  seasonal plantings of flowers and the upkeep of shrubs and trees at the  Village Commons Park on John Street. Currently we maintain the  following:

  • Perennial Bed at the Village Commons
  • Gazebo Upkeep and flowering boarders at the Village Commons
  • Welcome to Nassau entry signs, including the flower bed at Albany Avenue
  • Window boxes on the Albany Avenue bridge over the Valatiekill
  • Flowers, shrubs and trees at the Village Square including around the Veterans' Memorial
